Special Processing Machines at CIMT 2025: Creating a New Chapter in Intelligent Manufacturing

The 19th China International Machine Tool Exhibition (CIMT 2025) in Beijing was a milestone in the industrial world. GF FORM P600: Paired with ISPG pulse technology and the Econowatt energy management system, GF proves to be precise and power-efficient. The six-axis machining is supported by the machine with optional rotary tables for aerospace parts with complicated structures.

Suzhou Hanqi HQ-U40: Achieves Ra 0.05 µm via intelligent power modules and micro-discharge control.

Beijing Dimon ADV600 & SF-4: High-end machines now include six-axis linkage with ±2 µm repeatability.

General Technology AFU600: Sub-0.15 µm finishes on carbide are now possible, comparable to top foreign competitors.

Automation was a dominant theme. Many domestic brands, including Suzhou Xinhua and Taizheng, promoted automated oil tanks, tool changers, and full MES system integration. Some showcased collaborative robots and AI-powered adaptive control systems, pointing to smarter and more autonomous EDM cells.

Chinese, UK, and Swiss exhibitors displayed high-precision micro-hole and wire-cutting EDM machines targeting aerospace, semiconductor, and high-end mold industries:

Winbro HSD351: Provides multi-axis drilling for turbine blades with 3D inspection built-in.

Suzhou Dianji SE-GK020C: Seven-axis high-speed micro-hole EDM machine with automatic electrode changers and intelligent probing.

SARIX SX30-pm: Swiss micro-EDM machine achieves ±3 µm accuracy using mineral oil and electrodes as small as 0.1 mm.

Wire-cutting technology also developed further, with emphasis on automatic wire threading, surface quality enhancement, and digital connectivity. Japan's Sodick ALN400G and Makino U86 showcased new pulse control systems, rotary axes, and full connectivity via OPC UA and HyperConnect platforms.

CIMT 2025 special processing machine exhibition showed two parallel trends: the continuous innovation of international leaders and Chinese manufacturers catching up rapidly. The focus on automation, energy conservation, multi-axis machining, and simple-to-operate CNC control reflects the industry's pursuit of more intelligent and sustainable manufacturing.

While Chinese gear is closing the gap in terms of performance and functionality, the gap remains in ultra-high-precision capability. It also remains in proprietary components and international brand awareness.
